Application Instructions:
Preparation: Remove all sweat, gummed oil, and dirt by washing leather with warm water and glycerine saddle soap. Ensure leather is warm and nearly dry before application.
Application: Apply Saddle ButterĀ® and rub in well with your hands - the warmth helps tallow and waxes penetrate leather pores. For easier application, warm the product (lid removed) in a pan of boiling water until soft, or microwave for 30 seconds. Apply with woolskin, cloth, soft brush, or hands.
Special Care: Apply several coats to leather that contacts your horse for extra protection against salt and moisture from perspiration. For flower-stamped leathers, apply light coats and wipe off surplus with a clean cloth. Remove any accumulation in stamping depressions immediately with a dry soft brush.
Pro Tip: Carnauba wax can leave a white residue if applied too thick or too cool. Remove excess with a soft brush and buff the wax into leather with a cloth or woolskin for a beautiful finish.
