HOW IT STARTED
After holding up the barrier for his girls, time and again, with their young Breakaway horses, and then buying an older head horse who had only been through the electric eye barriers, Jeff was convinced there was a better, and more time-efficient, way to train a rope horse to go through a barrier – an EASIER, SAFER, and MORE CONSISTENT method, AND one you could do yourself, without a helper. He designed the JASPER TRAINING BARRIER and has had one in their arena ever since.
DESENSITIZES YOUNG ROPERS
​This teaches young ropers to focus on the cattle – NOT the barrier pull rope. This allows young ropers to become immune to looking at pull rope – whether you have a traditional barrier system set up at home or not. This will greatly improve their ability to “read” cattle.
DESENSITIZES YOUNG HORSES
Most colt trainers use a stick with either a plastic bag or a flag on to help desensitize young horses. Just remove your JASPER TRAINING BARRIER flag, rub it all over your horse for a couple days, then hang it back up and ask them to walk thru it. Excellent for trail horses, and ALL YOUNG HORSES, whether you intend to rope on them or not.
USE THEM OUTSIDE THE ARENA
The Jasper Training Barrier can be used away from the box and even outside the arena. Â Just set it up anywhere and go through it.
